Meet Kevin

He believes in the power of movement — physical, emotional, and relational — and works with clients navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, stress, grief, family dynamics and life transitions. His approach draws from Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS), helping people find the courage to change and grow.

Kevin prioritizes trust and open communication, fostering a supportive space for self-discovery while approaching each client with open communication. He is currently a Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

Kevin Klin completed his Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. He is also a Certified Ontario Teacher with over 11 years of experience supporting teenagers and adults in therapeutic and outdoor educational settings.

Outside the office, Kevin is often found on a river, trail, or ski hill — guiding canoe trips, teaching on snow, or handling wilderness first response. He still tinkers with welding and carpentry, though the results keep him humble. That same grounded, capable energy shows up in his work with clients.

About
my Approach

In Motion Psychotherapy was built on a simple idea: change happens through movement. Whether it’s a walk on a trail or an honest conversation about what’s shifting in your life, motion — physical, emotional, or relational — is what helps us grow.

We take therapy off the couch and into real life. Sometimes that means walking outdoors, other times it means tackling what’s in front of you right here. The process isn’t always forward — it can be sideways, backward, or uphill — but it’s always in motion, and that’s what matters.

This is therapy for people who want to feel movement again — in their thinking, their relationships, and their lives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will you fix me?

Nope — that’s not how this works.
Therapy isn’t about being fixed — it’s about learning, unlearning, and moving forward with awareness. I can guide, challenge, and support you, but the real progress happens in the moments between sessions.

What you get out of therapy depends on what you put into it — the willingness to reflect, to open up, and to try something different. The clients who see the biggest changes are the ones who spend even 2–10 minutes a day applying what we talk about. Small, consistent effort adds up to real, sustainable change.

Who I work with?

I work with people who are ready to move — sometimes physically, often emotionally. Most of my clients are navigating stress, anxiety, burnout, relationship strain, or just feeling stuck and wanting to understand what is behind this.

I work with older teens, adults, and couples — people who want to make sense of their patterns, and learn new ways to show up for themselves and others. You don’t have to have it all figured out; you just have to be willing to start.

Does In Motion mean I have to do fitness?

Don’t worry, you won’t need gym clothes. The movement we’re after is internal — ideas, perspectives, habits.

You are only in Ontario?

Offering in person and virtual therapy across Ontario and unregulated provinces/territories (YK, NWT, NU, BC, SK, MB, NL). My office is located in Barry’s Bay and Pembroke, Ontario

What is Walk and Talk therapy?

Walk-and-Talk Therapy takes the conversation outside. Sessions are held while walking at a comfortable pace in a natural setting, combining movement, fresh air, and open space with the depth of traditional talk therapy. Many clients find it easier to open up while walking side by side rather than sitting across from someone in an office — it helps thoughts flow and ease tension.

For some, “Dudes with Dogs” is simply a lighter, more laid-back version of walk-and-talk therapy — a chance to talk while moving, often with a dog along for the walk. It’s designed for clients who prefer a relaxed, side-by-side setting rather than a traditional office. Whether we’re on a trail or a sidewalk, the focus stays the same: movement, connection, and a conversation that feels natural.

What to expect in our first session?

Your first session is a conversation — a chance to get a sense of each other and what’s bringing you in. Some people like to dive straight in; others take a slower approach. Either way works. We’ll move at your pace, not mine, and build from there.

How often do we meet?

That depends on what you’re working through and what your schedule allows. Some clients come weekly to build momentum; others check in every few weeks once things feel steadier. We’ll find a rhythm that fits your goals, not a formula. The idea is progress that’s sustainable — not rushed.

What if I have never done therapy before?

That’s totally fine — most people haven’t. There’s no script, no need to know what to say, and no expectation to have it all figured out. My job is to help guide the conversation, ask good questions, and make sure you feel grounded as we go. It’s more about curiosity than perfection.

How long will therapy take?

That depends on you — and what you want from it. Some clients come in for a few focused sessions to get unstuck. Others stay longer to dig deeper and sustain change.

Therapy isn’t about checking boxes or hitting milestones. It’s about movement — forward, backward, sideways — as long as it’s honest. We’ll check in along the way to make sure it’s still helping you grow.

Do I have to talk about everything?

Nope. You set the pace. Therapy works best when you feel ready — not pushed.

You don’t have to share every detail right away (or ever). My role is to create space for curiosity, not pressure. When something’s ready to be talked about, it’ll surface naturally — and we’ll handle it together.
